My name is Ziyue Li, I’m sure you can already guess from my name that I am Asian, if you guess that then you are correct. Me and my parents immigrated to U.S when I was at the age of eleven hoping for a better education. I was born in September 2001, due to one child policy at the time, I was forced to live with my aunt, whom I considered as my second mom, without her I wouldn’t have been who I am today. I had a happy child hood but not a healthy childhood, what I mean is that I spend most of my childhood hanging out with pretty women wearing all white clothes and a hat that is emphasized with a red cross in the middle. They are nice people, they took care of me for more than three month when I burned my leg and they also put stitches on my head when a metal pointy object made a small hole on my head. My childhood is full of accidents, but those two were the bigger ones.
When I first enter school in America, it was awkward and weird because of different culture and the fact that I know zero English. Luckily, there was a person who was able to speak English and translate for me. I was able to quickly learn English in two years, despite the fact that I learned English, people still bully me because of my accent, I guess I was too naive back then, to think that people would change if I change my self. Eventually I was able to make some friends that doesn’t judge me base on how I speak. Growing up was hard, parents had high expectation for me, but I never had that good of a relationship with my parents, we would constantly arguing over things because I didn’t want to do what they force me to do and become the person that is not me.
Since a kid, I have always wanted to be an engineering and currently I am in pursuit of my dream, during my free time I like to play video games, read fiction stories and listen to music. I stay in my room most of the time, because is quiet and the parent issues. I have taken violin lesson for the about eight years, it has been a life changing stuff in my life, under stressful times, it calms me down and helps me to relax.
